The DIY Bride

This is a great book by Khris Cochran the founder of DIYBride.com. I absolutely love several of the ideas in this clever and crafty book of DIY projects for brides.

What is really great is these projects are super cool, chic and up to date. Not a sign of tulle or lace in the mix. Trendy ideas for invitations, thank you notes, table top decor, a tiara and veil, flower girl stuff, reception decorations, even earrings, pew cones, and a guest book.

It makes me wish I was getting married all over again just to have an excuse to make some of these projects.

Oh well, I'll stick to writing about weddings and helping others plan theirs. Maybe me and the hubby will decide to renew our vows someday.

If you are a crafty bride you do really need to check this book out. Some of my favorite crafts are the Vintage Necklace Tiara on page 62, the Ridiculously Simple Drop Earrings on page 72, the Faux Metal Pew Cone on page 100, the Hanging Garden Aisle Markers on page 104, te Decoupage Flower Girl Bucket on page 93, and my all time favorite - the Rhinestone Monogram Cake Topper on page 136.

These ideas are simple, elegant and absolutely beautiful ways to dress up your wedding and save some $$$.

Many of the ideas are also green or greenish and with a little bit of material modifications could be very green - use recycled or tree free paper or card stock and substitute regular materials for sustainable alternatives and you have oh so green DIY wedding crafts.
